Sono nata a Biella il 01/03/73 e suono col Consorzio Acqua Potabile dal 1999. Musicalmente parlando suono e canto fin da quando ero piccola (ho cominciato alle elementari).
Ho studiato pianoforte per 4 anni e suono ancora a livello dilettantistico anche se il mio vero strumento - i miei veri strumenti- sono i flauti dolci, quelli a becco, volgarmente definiti pifferi.
Il mio amore per questo strumento risale alle medie quando un prof. Molto innamorato di queste piccole meraviglie musicali mi invogliò a dedicarmici seriamente.
Da allora ho vinto per 3 anni consecutivi il Consorzio Internazionale di Musica per i Giovani città di Stresa, ho intrapreso attività concertistica, soprattutto nei periodi estivi, e…. insomma non li ho più lasciati. Vocalmente, invece, nasco da che ho voce in corpo. Prima a cantare nelle chiese, poi in piccoli gruppi locali.
Attorno ai 18 anni conosco Giulio Monaco e studio canto sotto di lui nel gruppo di Progetto Musica nella sezione soprani leggeri. L'incontro però a cui tengo di più che è poi quello che mi ha portato dritto nelle "fauci" dei CAP risale a 8 anni fa quando, una sera al Karaoke conosco Rino De Finis e la sua famiglia ed entro nel coro del musical Aggiungi un posto a Tavola.
Qui conosco anche il buon Maurizio Mercandino, la voce dei CAP che in quel gruppo recitava.
Da allora la nostra amicizia non si è mai esaurita. Un giorno vengo a sapere che suona in un gruppo, che io all'epoca non conoscevo, ma che sapevo essere uno dei pilastri della musica Prog: il Consorzio. Comincio ad andare a sentire le prove, ….ed eccomi qui a suonare e cantare con loro. Nel 99 riesco, a trovare un buon ingaggio in America. Partecipiamo al ProgDay. Tra me e questa musica è nato un amore a prima vista. Più suono e più mi appassiono. Far conoscere i CAP al mondo intero diventa il mio sogno e scopo principale. Silvia Hy everybody from Silvia! I was born in Biella on March 01/73 and I've been playing and singing with Consorzio Acqua Potabile since 1999. Musically talking I've been playing music and singing since I was a little child (I started my musical experience at the elementary school).
I studied piano for 4 years and still play piano on my own even if my real instruments are recorders.
My love for recorders started at the intermediate school when Prof. Ghirardelli a great lover of this kind of instruments introduced me to their magical world, helping me in studying these instruments seriously. Since then I won three consecutive times the International music contest Concorso Internazionale di Musica per i Giovani città di Stresa, I starter playing at classical concerts, especially durino summer and….never was able to leave them. Vocally, instead, I sing since I have voice in my lounghs. I starter in the local Church, then in small local groups.
At about 18 years old I meet Giulio Monaco Director of one of the most popular choirs of the area and join his choir Progetto Musica singing in the light Soprano section.
But the most important experience of my vocal and musical life has been meeting the people who virtually lead me in the mouth of the CAP wolf, that is to say meeting, almost 8 years ago Rino De Finis and his family who introduced me to their theatral group La Meridiana entering the Aggiungi un posto a Tavola musical choir.
Here I meet my good friend Maurizio Mercandino, CAP voice who was first actor. Since then our friendship is still flourishig. Une day I discover from him that he's playing in a prog band I knew it was one of the most important of Italy and invites me around.
I start taking part to rehersals and ….here I am singing and playing with them. Between me and this music it was love at first sight. The more I play it, the more I love it. In '99 I achieve one of my goal: taking CAP to the States. We played at ProgDay wit hbig success.
